Anna Melvin

Anna Marie Melvin, 94, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away June 7, 2025 at The Maples at Centennial Park Retirement, in North Platte. She was born on April 11, 1931 to Joseph and Teresa (Leaderbrand) Arensdorf, in Sutherland, NE.
Anna attended District 60 grade school and graduated from McPherson County High School at NE. 
Anna’s children include Jack Arensdorf, Charlene, Darlene, Donna Jo, Becky and Billy Melvin.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Chur-ch, VFW, involved in the Bean Feeds, and an avid stamp collector.  She was a volunteer for the RSVP program for 24 years, and eight months which included helping at the North Platte Bulletin and North Platte Library where she spent a lot of time.  Anna will be remembered by the many items she crocheted and all of the craft shows she attended.  She made afghans for all of her grandchildren and loved playing card and board games with them.  Anna was an excellent cook, especially her apple pie, a great canner and she loved to square dance.
Anna is survived by her three children, Jack (Jodi) Arensdorf, Sutherland, NE, Charlene (Stan) Freeman, North Platte, NE, Donna Jo (Steve) Wright, North Platte, NE, son-in-law, Art Kramer, Stapleton, NE,  daughter-in-law, Donna Melvin, North Platte, NE; grandchildren, Mike Arensdorf, Tonia (Luke) McConnell, Shawn Arensdorf, Kimberly (Troy) Connick, Robert (Amanda) Freeman, Deanna (Jeremy) Storm, Lisa (Chris) Marcille, Lori (Bruce) Estep, AJ Kramer, Darcie (Heath) Krauter, Jennifer Kramer, Brandi (Lucas) Anderson, Danni (Josh) Bode, Amy Hesseltine; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; siblings, Dale Arnesdorf, Harold Arensdorf, Darlene Jones, Mildred Polanco, Marge Hehnke, Ray (Lynn) Arensdorf, Karen (Jack) Livingston; and numerous other family members and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her three children, Darlene Melvin, Billy Melvin, Becky Kramer; great-grandson, Brandon Freeman; siblings, Alma Waltz and Ralph Arensdorf.
Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Senior Center, RSVP Program.
Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at  10:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2025 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.  Visitation and rosary at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home who is assisting the family. 
Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens
