Carolyn Jane Lockwood was born May 26, 1943 in Clio, Iowa to Karl and Violet Richardson. She departed this life on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Great Plains Health in North Platte. She grew up in Iowa and attended school in Allentown, Iowa.

On March 20, 1960, she married Lyle R. Lockwood in Clio, Iowa.

Three children were born to this union, Corina, Carla, and Russell.

The couple moved to Denver, Colorado in 1967, shortly after learning of her brother-in-law, John-ny Lockwood’s passing.

The couple lived in Denver for ten years where Carolyn assisted her husband with his heating and air conditioning business.

They moved to Wyoming in 1977 where they lived for fifteen years. In the 80’s she and her husband started a trucking company called H & D Trucking later to be called Lockwood Trucking.

From there they moved to Stapleton in 1992 where they continued to run their trucking company until her husband, Lyle R. Lockwood passed in 2014. Carolyn continued to live there for a total of 30 years.

Her hobbies included working on word puzzles, writing jokes, working in the yard, and playing cards and Yahtzee.

Survivors include her daughter, Corina (Rick) Ackerman of Rock Springs, Wyoming, son-in-law, Danny Overy of Rock Springs, Wyoming, and son, Russell Lockwood and friend, Angela of Stapleton. Brother, Jerry (Jo) Richardson of Clio, Iowa and adopted brother, Kenny (Rita) Richardson of Mesa, Arizona. Grandchildren; Richard (Betty) Ackerman, Cory (Amanda) Ackerman, Cassandra (Charles) Shipp, Rebeccah (Anthony) Overy, Brittany (John) Overy, Derek (Natalya) Overy. Along with many great-grandchildren and several great-great grand- children.

She was preceded in death by, sister, Shirley Smith, Father, Karl Richardson, Mother, Violet Richardson. Husband, Lyle R. Lockwood and her daughter, Carla Overy. Grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
