Harold Curtis Joedeman, 86, of Stapleton, passed away at his home on Saturday,  July 27, 2024. He was born on Jan. 21, 1938, to William and Fern (Tomlinson) Joedeman of Gandy. He graduated from Logan County High School in 1956. He married Mary Halouska on June 12, 1956. The couple lived on his family farm south of Gandy and have resided there ever since. He began working at Forrester’s garage and worked there for 48 years. He was a founding member of the Gandy Community Church and will be remembered as a righteous man. Harold was known as an honorable man and took pride in working on the farm. He mentored many people throughout the years and was known as an excellent mechanic.Harold was preceded in death by his parents, daughters Mary (Ewoldt) and Teddi Hathaway; grandson, Christopher Joedeman; his brother Henry Joedeman; sisters, Florence Schaeffer, Lila Burnside, Rose Eleene Wonch, and Murene Bassett Leeper.Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Cindy (Bill) Spurgeon of Scottsbluff, Curtis Ray (Lydia Jo) Joedeman of Firth and Beth (Jim) Linn of Scottsbluff; sons-in-law, Allen (Velma ) Ewoldt of Stapleton and Wayne Hathaway of Springfield, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Cam (Teddi) Ewoldt, Serena (Rory) Bowen, Cay (Stephanie) Ewoldt, Connor Burns, Zachary Spurgeon, Jonathan (Stephanie) Spurgeon, Josiah Joedeman, Sonnen (Tanner) Maahs, Lindsey (Kyle) Lash, Patrick Joedeman and Briana (Michael) Padgett; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great-children; brother, Robert (Luella) Joedeman of Stapleton; sister, Willa (Clarence) Hendrich of Portis, Kansas; and numerous other family members and many friends.Memorials are suggested to the Gandy Community Bible Church. Online condolences may be shared at www.carpentermemorial.com.Funeral service is at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 1, at Gandy Community Bible Church with Pastor Frank Scott officiating. Burial follows at the McCain Cemetery. Visitation is from noon to 7:00 p.m., with family present 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with arrangements.
