Jacqueline “Jacquie” Lee (Snyder) Glaubitz, 52, of Sutherland passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Great Plains Health Hospital in North Platte, NE.

She was born on July 10, 1970 in Mullen, NE to James G. and Kathryn Joyce (Connell) Snyder.  Her first airplane ride was home to Snyder Ten Bar Ranch in McPherson County.

She grew up there and was her dad’s helper, especially after her two older sisters left home.  She learned at an early age that it’s better to grease all the zerks than replace a bearing in the August sun.  She attended grade school at Star School, district 28 and later graduated from McPherson High School with the class of 1988.  Jacquie was gifted in music, getting a few piano lessons from Jean Hora, violin lessons from Mrs. Finley and learning the saxophone in band.  She borrowed the saxophone from her sister Janelle who played the artist’s model alto which had once been owned by Lee Soltow of North Platte.  Jacquie attended Chadron State College, switching to the baritone after playing in the band there.  On June 29, 1996, she and Mark Glaubitz were married in Ringgold, NE.  After living in Tryon for several years they moved to Snyder Ranch.  Jacquie’s love of music gave her many wonderful experiences, friendships, and acquaintances, among them Jim Houseman of Flatrock Stranded, Bre DeNaeyer and the Haywaddies, Anthony Smith and the Duke Lee Band, Jim Calhoun, Kristina Craig, Suzy McIntire, Colin McFeat and drummer Nigel of Thistledown of Thurso, England.  Jacquie had been a member of the McPherson County Volunteer Fire Department and the Fair Board.  The Velvet Spurs attracted her, and she spent many enjoyable years with this drill team.  When she was no longer able to practice with them, she continued to choreograph their drills from home via video, phone, and thumb drives.  Jacquie was very accepting of life as it came to her, generous to a fault and loved her cattle and horses, which she took good care of, even writing down her last wishes for her 27-year-old horse, Spanky.  Jacquie enjoyed the family airplane and attended several conventions of the International Cessna 170 Association including Edmonton, Kansas City, Portland, Fresno, Blakesburg, IA, Washington, D.C. and Jennings, LA.

Those left to cherish Jacquie’s memory are her husband of 26 years, Mark Glaubitz; her mother, Joyce Snyder; sisters, Janelle (Kim) Blake, and Jill McNutt all of Tryon; mother-in-law, Marlene (Dave) Munoz of Greeley, CO; step-mother-in-law, Linda Glaubitz of Irving, TX; grandmother, Esther Rutan; niece, Micki (Simon) Yara and their children Zachary Schmidt of Las Vegas, Ethan Schmidt of Tryon; niece, Megan (Casey) Renner and children Wyatt, Lincoln, and Elaina of Sutherland; niece, Margo (Frank) Morton and children Mesa and Evelyn of Plains, Kansas; nephews, Arlis (Andrea) Blake and their sons Brandon and Kaden, Nate (Melissa) McNutt all of Tryon; nephew, Nicholas Gifford of Laramie, WY; uncles, Jack (Charlene) Connell of Whitman and Gary (Judy) Connell of North Platte; brothers-in-law, Mike (Amy) Munoz, Randall Glaubitz, Steven (Lisa) Glaubitz, Kristopher (Claudia) Glaubitz, and Allen (Elspeth) Glaubitz; sisters-in-law, Sonya (Chris) Wright, and Raechal Munoz; nieces-in-law, Amanda (Leo) Harwager, Karis and Kalan Glaubitz; nephews-in-law, Dylan (Claire) Boxler, Connor and Bridger Wright, Benjamin (Jazmine) Clark, Timothy Shannon, Nicholas Glaubitz; and many other relatives and friends.
