June Lorraine Farmer, 75, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away May 23, 2022 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.  She was born August 23, 1946 to Cecil Von and Anna May (Morris) Paxton in North Platte.

June was born in North Platte and was the middle daughter of seven girls.  She was raised in Tryon, Nebraska and attended school at Central City, Nebraska.  After high school graduation she moved to Denver, Colorado and worked for a foot doctor.  June met Gary Farmer on July 4, 1971 at a rodeo in Mullen, Nebraska.  They were married November 13, 1971 in North Platte.  To this union a daughter was born, Letitia.  They made their home in North Platte.  June worked in the photo center at Wal-Mart for several years and then at Ben Franklin.  June retired in 2009.  They raised cows and a few horses. She loved taking their grandsons on trips, especially to the condo in Colorado.  June always had a patio filled with flowers and lights.  Her favorite flowers being carnations.   She loved her grandkids, great-granddaughter and special niece and nephew, Kylee and Hunter.  June will always be remembered as being very caring, always there for you when you needed help.  She will also be remembered for her mischievous side.  June would make Gary his lunch and it wasn’t uncommon for him to find the cheese on his sandwich to still be wrapped in plastic when he would go to eat.  She loved to write poetry and take photos of sunsets.

June is survived by her husband, Gary Farmer of North Platte; daughter Tish (Craig) Dailey of North Platte; grandchildren, Logan (Alisa) Dailey of Wyoming and Colton (Ericka Barnes) Dailey of South Dakota; and great granddaughter Cora Leigh; sisters Rose Pyzer of California, Judy (Bill) Cox of St. Louis, Georgetta Paxton of Texas, Polly (Louis) Siegel of Stapleton, Nebraska and Pat (Rocky) Nicholson of Hershey, Nebraska; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Von and Anna May Paxton; sister Bess Aupperle; and niece Sheila Shafer.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Don Tuggle officiating.  Burial will follow the service at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.  Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, noon – 7:00 with family receiving friends from 5-7.  Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
