Karen Harwager, 73, of Arnold, NE, died November 20, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.She was born August 14, 1944, in Kearney, NE, to Lloyd Galusha and Gladys Mildred (Davis) Stogdill. Karen grew up in Thedford and graduated with the Thedford High School Class of 1962. She married Bill Harwager on November 23, 1966, at the Logan County Courthouse in Stapleton, NE. The couple lived in Dunning, Thedford, Holdrege, Stapleton, Hastings and Holstein, before moving to Arnold in March of 2017.Karen worked at the Halsey Forest, as a flagger in Thedford, at Ampride and Dairy Queen in Hastings, and at the grocery store in Kenesaw. Karen and Bill raised longhorn cattle for many years.She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons Tim (Melody) Harwager of Yucca, Arizona and Buck (Lisa) Harwager of North Platte, and daughter Karman (Lars) Ludvigson of Quinby, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren with two on the way; three sisters, Kathy (Denny Young) Shonkwiler, Marsha Galusha and Doreen (Randy) Muldeen; brother-in-law Jack (LaVon) Harwager; sisters-in-law Donna (Jim) Story, Anita Harwager and Marilyn Harwager; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.Karen was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Loiel Stogdill; brother Roger Galusha; sisters Ruth Huddleston and Dee Michl; brothers-in-law Dan Harwager and Dean Harwager; and grandson Logan Harwager.Memorials are suggested to the family.A memorial service will be held at a later date.Arnold Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
