Phyllis Jean Kramer, age 96, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the Scottsbluff Care and Rehabilitation Center. At Phyllis’ request, cremation has taken place and her burial at the Arthur County Cemetery will be held during the spring. Phyllis was born July 30th, 1921 5o Russell and Julia Goslin at Arthur, NE. She received her early education at School District 7, northwest of Arthur, and her high school education in Arthur. After school, she taught 1 year in a McPherson, CO grade school near Tryon, and two years at the grade school in Arthur, NE. From Nov. 1942- Nov 1943 she worked at Lockheed Vega Aircraft factory in Burbank, CO as a draftsman. In Nov 1943 Phyllis and Raymond Kramer were married in the Highland Park Baptist Church in Los Angeles, CA. After Raymond’s discharge from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1946, the couple returned to Arthur, where they ranched until 1956, then operated the International Harvester Co. and Garage in Arthur until 1966. During this time they were active in both church and community affairs.
In 1966, they moved to Thedford, NE where they operated the Thedford Sale Barn for 3 years, and were active in the church and community. Phyllis was a member of the Bethel Assembly of God Church and the Thedford Art Guild.
Preceding her in death were her parents and husband Raymond.
Survivors include her son Jerry (Lana) Kramer of Guernsey, WY; daughter Lyndall Rae (Felipe) Zavala of Pheonix, AZ; grandson George Raymond (Julie) Owen; step grandchildren Jessica Jensen of WY, Creed Cobler of WY, Marcus (Veronica) Zavala of AZ: great-grandchildren Jaryd (Keiko) Owen, Jordan Owen, all of Wicherberg, AZ, Elias Zavalas, Sophia Zavalas, Haven Cobler, and Hadley Cobler; great-great grandchildren Jaryd Jr. Owen, and William Owen
