Robert Arlen (Bob) Perry was born March 3, 1952 to Robert A. and Alta May (Bay) Perry. He passed away at his home in Tucson, AZ on July 23, 2025 after a two year struggle with cancer. Bob grew up on the family farm a mile east of Stapleton, graduated from Stapleton High School in 1970 and from Chadron College in 1974.
Bob taught music in the Petersburg, NE school for a year, then enlisted in the Army to pursue a music career. He served at bases in Colorado, Washington, Korea and Japan, where he met his wife and his two children were born, before ending his military career at Fort Huachuca, AZ in 1997 and moving to Tucson, AZ
While stationed at Ft Huachuca, Bob was a member of the band, Wells Fargo, that played at various venues in the Sierra Vista and Tucson area. For several years they could be heard at historic ‘Big Nose Kates’ in Tombstone, AZ .
After moving to Tucson, Bob worked at Intuit and Interlinks before again retiring during the covid epidemic. After joining the Temple Baptist Church, Bob helped produce the pastor’s Friday evening TV program on Access Tucson. He served as assistant to the current Pastor, Cliff Lawton, for the past 20 years.
Bob is survived by his wife Rosario, daughter Gwendolyn (Wendy) and fiancée, Joey Alvarez of Lomita, CA, and son Anthony (Tony) and granddaughter. Alivia, of Tucson, his mother and step father, Richard (Dick) Oglebay, Tucson; his brother and wife, Monty and Deborah Perry, North Platte, NE, and step siblings, Kathy (Glenn) Gauss and Karen (Paul) Higbee, Stockbridge and Williamston, MI, Gary (Julie) Oglebay of Tucson, AZ and one uncle, Arlen Bay of Stapleton, NE.
Surviving nephews are Chris (Amy) Beckner, Denver, Co, Michael (Brooke) Perry and Trevor Perry (friend Amber Allen), Omaha, NE, Sean Perry (fiancée Elisha Rafan) Stephen-ville, TX, step nieces and nephews, Erin and Jeni Gauss; Dennis (Shelly) Lachrone and John Lachrone, MI, Chelsea and Rachael Oglebay, Tucson, John and (Nealie) Krcyzke Castle Rock,CO and Jennifer (Dave) Schlake Lincoln, NE, other great nieces and nephews and a large number of cousins.
He was preceeded in death by his father, Robert Perry, grandparents Marvin and Anna Perry and Leslie and Myrtle Bay, aunt, Marjorie (Edward) Dalechek, aunt Donna Bay and cousin Edward P. Dalechek.
A memorial service is being planned to be held at Temple Baptist Church in Tucson. Internment will be in the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Marana, AZ
